Shack Radio Gippsland was founded in 2010 by lifelong friends Jamie Pallot and Jason Loughrey, who shared a passion for music, broadcasting, and bringing people together through radio.
The station was created in dedication to their friends Ryan and Garry Gunn, whose influence and friendship helped inspire the vision behind the project. Ryan sadly passed away diagnosed with leukemia and is father Garry passed away a week later, from What began as a small idea quickly grew into something unique for the Gippsland region.
Operating from a modest bungalow in a backyard in Morwell, Shack Radio's early days were built on determination, creativity, and a love of radio. At a time when internet broadcasting was still in its infancy, the station embraced online streaming technology and became one of the first internet-based radio stations in Gippsland.
Long before internet radio became mainstream, Shack Radio was providing listeners with an alternative way to access music and local content online. The station's pioneering approach helped establish a new platform for regional broadcasting, demonstrating the potential of internet radio to connect audiences beyond traditional broadcast boundaries.

Shack Radio also contributed to a project known as Psycho Twinz, involving Jason Ebs of the Jason Ebs All Star Band.
